Wanda Bee Hedge, 94, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2017, at Traditions of Solana in Indianapolis. Wanda was born on Nov. 13, 1922, in Clinton, to Milton and Della (Proctor) Sewell.
She was a graduate of Russellville High School and a member of Lakeview Church in Indianapolis.
Wanda was retired from the United States Postal Service. She worked at the Jamestown Post Office for her entire postal career.
Wanda is survived by her children, David (Cherye) Fuller, Joe (Darlene) Fuller and Susy (Walter) Bishop; her grandchildren, Chris (Beth) Black, Mitch (Karen) Black, Angela Gibson, Todd (Randi) Fuller, Traci (Ric) Walke, Jillian (Greg) Anderson, Julie (Eric) Neff, Joanna (Chris) Yohman, Melyssa Burris and Patrick (Linsey) Bishop; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Jack L. Hedge; daughter, Janice Black Foos; grandson, Apple (Troy) Quick; great-grandson, William Black; brothers, Frank, Charles, and Russell Sewell; and sisters, Lela Hester, Virginia Fox and Rose Reams.
Wanda always put family first and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a joy to her. She was a woman of strong faith, and was a great example to all of those around her of how Christians should live their lives. Her legacy will live on in the large family she leaves behind.
Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, until time of services at 1 p.m. at the Porter Funeral Home, Jamestown, with Pastor Harlan Kincade officiating. Wanda will be laid to rest in the Old Union Cemetery.
