Barbara C. Hutson, 87, passed away Sunday, April 16, 2017, at Hickory Creek at Lebanon in Lebanon. She was born on Nov. 21, 1929, in Milledgeville, a daughter of the now late Raleigh and Leatha (Hine) Copenhaver.
Barbara was a lifelong resident of Boone County and a 1947 graduate of Pinnell High School.
On Oct. 15, 1947, she was married to Albert J. Hutson. Albert passed away on Oct. 14, 1985.
Barbara worked for many years at Pitman-Moore Pharmaceutical, and later became a nurse's aide at Witham Memorial Hospital and Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Barbara was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include daughters, Tessie Allen of Martinsville, and Paula Parker of Lebanon; sisters, Fern Ward of Thorntown, Norma Noland of Lebanon, Sue Bennington of Lebanon, and Charlene Woodard of Lebanon; and six grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, Barbara was preceded in death by a son, Jack Hutson; three brothers, Joe Copenhaver, Jack Copenhaver and Richard Copenhaver; five sisters, Judy Copenhaver, Mary Croft, Mildred Plunkett, Phyllis Dale and Olive Seymour; and two sons-in-law, Rick Parker and Charlie Allen.
Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. Thursday, April 20, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.
