Betty J. Ferguson, 82, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born on Oct. 20, 1934, in Indianapolis, a daughter of the now late Martin E. and Virginia F. (Carver) Embry.
Betty was married to Orville R. Ferguson on Dec. 23, 1950, in Indianapolis; Orville passed away April 23, 1998.
She was a devoted homemaker, and took care of many children throughout the years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, going to church, fishing and playing cards. She attended Bethesda Baptist Church in Brownsburg and Hope Baptist in Indianapolis.
Survivors include children, Audry P. Manning of Brownsburg, Carol L. Ball and husband, Larry, of Lebanon, Norma J. Lucky and husband, Joseph, of Lebanon, and Michael Ferguson and wife, Rhonda, of Brownsburg; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great- grandchildren; sons-in-law, Jerry Johnson of Indianapolis and Bill Stewart of Mooresville; best friend, Edith "Cleo" Perlee of Lebanon; and four siblings.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine L. Stewart; son-in-law, Tom Manning; a grandson, Matthew Sizemore-Ferguson; and five siblings. Visitation is to be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at the mortuary. Interment will follow at New Crown Cemetery in Indianapolis.
