Mrs. Blanche Marie (Hungerford) Susong, 96, of Thorntown, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2016, at The Hearth of Tudor Gardens in Zionsville. She was born in Gueydan, La., on July 13, 1920, a daughter to the now late Oscar Hungerford and Adele (Broussard) Hungerford.
On Jan. 7, 1944, in Gueydan, she was married to Herbert Edward Susong. He preceded her in death.
She loved her family and took great pride in caring for them and being a homemaker.
Blanche was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lebanon.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at the Hearth, and to Jerry Blesch for his friendship.
Survivors include daughter, Ouida M. Norris of Greenfield; five grandchildren, John Susong and wife, Heidi, of Lebanon, Patrick Susong and wife, Holly, of Lebanon, Michael Susong and wife, Melissa, of Lebanon, Ty Norris of Indianapolis and Natalie Klenotic and husband, Bill, of Greenfield; great-grandchildren, Ann Marie and Joe Susong, Jacob, Ava and Lyla Susong, Andrew Susong, Hannah Latham and husband, John, Chase Klenotic and Gage Klenotic; two sisters; as well as many other family members in Louisiana and Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a son, Charles Edward Susong.
No services are planned.
A Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Lebanon, at a later date.
Private burial of ashes will take place at a later date at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
