Calvin, affectionately known as Bud, passed away Dec. 19, in Deland, Fla. He was born May 28, 1936, son of Ruth and Calvin Lenox, both now deceased.
Growing up in Lebanon, he attended Lindberg and Central Elementary Schools.
His family moved to Winter Park, Fla., in 1952; he graduated from Edgewater High School. There he found his talent and love for swimming, taking home many honors.
He attended Purdue University, where he was a member of the swim team and of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He then attended and graduated from Florida State University. While there he met and later married Katherine Rae Brown, of Frostproof, Fla.; she is now deceased.
Bud continued his education and graduated from Stetson University with a law degree, then practiced as a prominent lawyer in Orlando, Fla. He enjoyed public speaking and was an instructor for Dale Carnegie.
His passion for long-distance swimming never ended and he was also an accomplished artist. His portraits found their way into many homes, some here in Lebanon.
He is survived by his loving family members including a son, Ken Carter; two grandchildren, Rainey and Reid; a loving sister, Suzanne Lenox of Lebanon; niece and nephew, Ann Hogan (Roger) and Steve Clapper (Lynne); aunt, Mariam Lenox of Lebanon; and cousins, Sarah Quick (Ted), Julia Haines (Dr. James), Nancy Wethington (Ken), Dr. Jay Lenox (Christy), Rick Lenox (Connie) and Than Lenox.
Bud was preceded in death by a niece, Linda Clapper; uncles, Dr. Jack Lenox and Richard Lenox; and an aunt, Mary Herr Lenox.
He will be missed by those who loved him dearly.
