Diana's Story

Diana Kay Gilmore, 70, of Macy, and formerly of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2016, at Woodlawn Hospital in Rochester. She was born on Oct. 20, 1946, in Lebanon, a daughter of the now late Marion French and Edith Lucille (Hunt) French.
Diana was a 1965 graduate of Lebanon High School. Following high school, she joined the United States Navy and served from 1966 to 1967.
She was first married to John Greer in Queens, N.Y. She then was married to Vern C. Gilmore in Boone County; both husbands preceded her in death.
Diana had worked for Shumate Business Forms in the production department. She later worked as a CNA at local area nursing homes and as a cashier at several gas stations.
A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Diana was a devoted Christian and loved reading her Bible. She also enjoyed crocheting and word searches.
She was a member of Macy Christian Church, American Legion Auxiliary of Lebanon and Assembly of God Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include children, Dawn L. McDougall of California, Mary Emberton and husband, Douglas, of Macy, and Clint Gilmore of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Amanda Greer, George McDougall, Aslan Emberton, Noah Emberton, Caleb Emberton and Ezekiel Emberton; brothers, John M. French of Lebanon and Phillip W. French of Lebanon; and sisters, Wanda Jane Likens and husband, Alva, of Lebanon, and Cheryl Ann Calbert of California.
In addition to her parents and husbands, Diana was preceded in death by a son, Troy Greer.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery, 935 E. Washington St., Lebanon.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ladies Aid at the Macy Christian Church, 190 Commerce St., P.O. Box 65, Macy, IN 46951.
