Jack E. Boatright, 81, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at his home in Lebanon, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born Sept. 21, 1935, in Lafayette, to the now late Lowell O. and Gladys C. (Simmons) Boatright.
Jack was married to Connie C. Calhoun on Nov. 6, 1955, in Fort Wayne. They spent 61 wonderful years together.
Raised in Monticello, Jack was a graduate of Monticello High School in 1953. He then served during the Korean War era with the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Jack attended International Business College, where he received his associate degree.
Jack was in the banking business for 35 years, first working for Lafayette National Bank, which later became Indiana National Bank. He then went to work for Peoples State Bank in Francesville, retiring in 1998. He was a member of the Indiana Bankers Association and attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Jack was a dedicated resident in the communities where he lived. He was a member of Wildcat Conservation Club of Mulberry, Masonic Lodge 103 F. & A.M. of Dayton, and the Rotary Club of Lebanon. He served on the YMCA board and volunteered for Habitat for Humanity and Meals on Wheels for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Connie; two sons, Mike (Suzanne) Boatright of Carmel, and Dan (Gina) Boatright of Stilesville; and three grandchildren, Caroline, Allie and Owen. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia A. English Kinsey, and an infant brother.
Visitation is planned for 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, April 23, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon, with Masonic Rites beginning at 5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 24, at the mortuary, with the Rev. Anthony Stone officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at IOOF Riverview Cemetery in Monticello.
