John George "Jack" Crider, 86, of Plainfield, passed away July 22, 2016. Born
June 14, 1930, in Lebanon, he was the son of Lester "Dutch" and Nellie Cross
He married Nancy S. Lewallen on Jan.14, 1951. Survivors include his wife, Nancy Crider of Plainfield; son, John L. Crider of Avon; daughters, Bonnie Holliday of California and Brenda Jay of Plainfield; grandchildren, Alisa Rouse, Amy Jay, Laura Jay-Ballinger, Sarah Crider and Ashley Barth; and four great-grandchildren.
In his early years, Jack served on the Lebanon City Council and was involved in politics in Lebanon and on a state level. As president of the Jaycees, he was instrumental in organizing the Fourth of July celebration the town of Lebanon enjoys today.
Jack and Nancy spent 27 years in Georgia, where they worked side by side in the garage door industry.
They enjoyed boating, antiquing, good food and each other's company. Jack and Nancy's remarkable love story lasted 68 years.
Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, July 30, at Hall-Baker Funeral Home, 339 E. Main St., Plainfield. Services will be held at noon Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Marilee Gabriel officiating. Inurnment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, Lebanon.
