Loren "Larry"'s Story
Mr. Loren "Larry" Gillette, 76, of Thorntown, passed away peacefully on Oct. 8, 2016, at St. Vincent Heart Center in Carmel.
Larry was born on Oct. 12, 1939, in Indianapolis, the son of the now late Oren George Gillette and Dorothy Mae (Rose) Sanders.
Larry worked as a sales representative for most of his life, enjoying a career at Curtis Knoll for 20 years and Arrow Fastener for 25 years. He loved Thorntown, talking with his friends, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his children, Douglas (Darlene) Gillette of Thorntown and Amy L. Gillette; his grandchildren, Airman First Class Jason Gillette of McCord Air Force Base, Cassidy Gillette of Thorntown, and Kiera Sloan of Indianapolis; along with his sister Diann (Rick) Baker of Snellville, Ga.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, Oct. 13, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Larry will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis.
