Mrs. Margaret "Midge" Anderson, 90, of Thorntown, passed away Oct. 19, 2016, at Homewood Health Campus.
Midge was born on Aug. 15, 1926, in Plainfield, the daughter of the now late A.B. and Bessie (Elliott) Tipps.
Midge graduated from Plainfield High School. She worked as a cook in Thorntown at The Lost Frontier, Stookey's and Thorntown Elementary until her retirement. Midge loved gardening and was known for her beautiful flowers; she was talented at playing the piano and could play by ear; and baking was her passion, especially at Christmas time when she loved giving away baskets of cookies.
She was a devoted and loving mother to: Peggy (Don) Vaughn of Thorntown, Jim (Terry) Anderson of Columbus, Ohio, and Gary (Diana) Anderson of Clayton; grandchildren Tracey, Brian, and Dustin Vaughn, Doug, Jeff and Jamie Anderson, Sarah Beth Anderson, great-grandchildren Maddison Vaughn, Macie Vaughn, Cohen Vaughn, Warren Vaughn, Micah Anderson, Josiah Anderson, Charlotte Anderson, Alexander Vankirk; and sisters Beth Pilcher, Patsy Harris and Judy Stout.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings Ruth Hancook and Elliott Tipps.
Family and friends will gather Sunday for visitation from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Midge will be laid to rest at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
