Patricia's Story

Patricia Anne Wiltermood Sutton Vaughn, 87, of Greenfield and formerly of Zionsville, Ind., passed away Monday morning, Oct. 2, 2017, at Hancock Regional Hospital in Greenfield, Ind. She was born in Indianapolis, Ind., on May 17, 1930, the daughter of the late James F. and Olive Marie (Catheart) Long.
She was first married to William L. Wiltermood in 1946 in Crawfordsville, Ind.; they divorced. In August 1959, she was married to Bruce Leslie Sutton, Jr. in Lafayette, Ind. Mr. Sutton passed away on February 27, 1994. She then was married to James Vaughn in 1997 and he preceded her in death in 2000.
Patricia had attended Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. For many years, she worked for the Lebanon Police Department as a dispatcher, retiring in 1993. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon and had attended Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood. Patricia loved her family dearly and enjoyed every moment that was spent together. She enjoyed traveling and had a fondness for her cats.
Survivors include, seven children, James W. (Ginny) Wiltermood of Thorntown, Jack Lee (Debi) Wiltermood of Danville, Gary D. (Melinda) Wiltermood of Lebanon, Bruce L. (Lynne) Sutton, III of Morristown, Patrice M. Wilson of Anderson, Lisa I. Gaylor of Fishers, and Lori G. Lukins of Mt. Juliet, Tenn.;
three step children, Janice E. (Darrell) Cook of Bainbridge, Sandra L. (Wayne) Smith of Arcadia, and Jeannette L. (Terry) Newkirk of Fillmore; daughter-in-law, Pam Sutton of Greenwood; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; step-brother, Clifford Olson; and step-brother-in-law, Ike Vice of Astoria, Ore.
In addition to her parents and her husbands, Patricia was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Ann Wiltermood; two step-sons, Larry Sutton and Jack L. Sutton; step-sister, Gail Vice; and a grandson, Bruce L. Sutton, IV.
Funeral Services are planned for 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2017, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon St., Lebanon, Indiana, with Pastor Brandon Sutton, officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment of Ashes will take place at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon, at 10 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017.
