Robert "Bob"'s Story
Mr. Robert K. Duncan, 79, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at his home in Lebanon. He was born on April 20, 1938, in Boone County, a son of the now late Earl and Ruth F. (Williams) Duncan.
Bob attended schools in Lizton and Danville. He graduated from Pinnell High School with the class of 1956, and was a member of the Pinnell Purple Dragons basketball team.
He was a member of the Indiana National Guard.
On May 13, 1959, he was married to Carol Dillon at the first Baptist Church in Lebanon, and they spent 58 years together.
Bob was employed for 15 years at Pitman Moore/Dow Chemical in Zionsville. He was a heating and cooling contractor, employed by the Justus Company of Indianapolis, and also was employed by Meridian Hills Country Club of Indianapolis. In 1975, he started his own business, Duncan Heating, Cooling and Refrigeration; retiring in 2005.
Bob was hard-working and dedicated to his profession. He enjoyed fishing in Canada, traveling with his wife, and caring for his home and lawn.
Survivors include his wife, Carol Duncan of Lebanon; daughters, Sherri L. (Brent) Ross of Ohio, and Staci Jo Duncan. He took much pride in his grandchildren, Alexander Robert Ross, Aric William Ross, Abigail Lynn Ross and Christina Leigh Ross, all of Ohio.
In accordance to his wishes, there will be no public services. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
