Mrs. Ruth E. (Hightshue) Everett, 91, of Lebanon, passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born Aug. 17, 1924, in Zionsville, to the now late James Jacob "Jake" Hightshue and Leona D. (Steen) Hightshue.
A lifetime resident of Boone County, Ruth was a 1942 graduate of Zionsville High School.
On April 28, 1942, she was married to Ray Keith Everett in Zionsville. Mr. Everett passed away on March 12, 1995.
Ruth had worked as a horse show judge and was a devoted homemaker.
She loved her family and enjoyed the time spent with them. She also had enjoyed wintering in Florida and Arizona for many years.
Ruth was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, American Quilters Guild, Pike Township Historical Society, Perry Homemakers club, SullivanMunce Cultural Center, Boone County 4-H, Boone County Horseman's Association, Maricopa County, Ariz., Trail Riders Association, Palomino Horse Breeders Association and the Indiana Saddle Horse Association.
Survivors include children, Aaron W. Everett and wife, Carolyn, of Lebanon, Ray K. Everett and wife, Karen, of Lebanon and Ramona Everett of Seymour and husband, Wade, of Lebanon; grandchildren, Doug Everett and wife, Nanette, of Lebanon, Linda Patneaude and husband, Bruce, of Bradenton, Fla., Andy Henthorn and wife, Lindsey, Tom Henthorn and wife, Ashley, John Henthorn, Garrett Seymour and wife, Leanne, and Ray K. Everett III; great-grandchildren, Tyler Everett, Abby Everett, Luke Everett, Sally Everett, Blake Vogt, Clark Vogt, Constance Henthorn, Josephine Henthorn, Caroline Henthorn, Jackson Henthorn, Wade Seymour and Savannah Seymour; sister, Barbara Voorhis of Zionsville; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Ruth was preceded in death by sisters, Geneva M. Atkinson and Mary E. Schooler; great-granddaughter, Charlotte Rae Henthorn; and brothers-in-law, Robert Atkinson, Lloyd Schooler and Alan Voorhis.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 11, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the mortuary, with the Rev. Don Campbell officiating. Interment will follow at Bethesda Cemetery in Brownsburg.
