Ruth Frances Immel, 94, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, 2017, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon. She was born in Hillsburg on March 14, 1922, the daughter of the now late Earl and Leafy Mae (Laughner) Lamberson.
Ruth was raised in Clinton and Boone counties, and attended school in Boone County.
On Sept. 7, 1938, she was married in Logansport, to James Glenmore Immel. Mr. Immel passed away on Feb. 27, 1960.
Ruth had worked for Wheeler's Restaurant, Light House Inn and at the senior high school in the cafeteria. She had also worked for Boss Manufacturing, Stewart-Warner and as a cashier for Kroger. Ruth then worked for Culligan for 35 years, before retiring in 1994.
Ruth loved being a homemaker and a mother. She enjoyed flower gardening and fishing.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Lebanon; Order of The Eastern Star Chapter 23, Lebanon; and the First Baptist Church Widows Support Group, Lebanon.
Survivors include son, James F. Immel and wife, Beverly, of Lebanon.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ruth was preceded in death by two brothers, Milo Lamberson and Eugene Lamberson.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services, with Eastern Star rites, are planned for 2 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
