Thomas's Story

Thomas Edward Warmoth, 75, of Thorntown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday morning, July 17, 2016, at his home. He was born in Thorntown on March 24, 1941, a son of the now late Ralph E. and Wilda A. (Johnson) Warmoth.
On June 23, 1961, he married Lois June Ping in Whitestown. She passed away on Feb. 25, 1983. He then was married to Sharon Louise (Cornett) Grissom in Thorntown on Oct. 5, 2002; she passed away on July 3, 2004. He recently married his longtime companion, Sarah L. "Sally" (Witt) Byrd, on Feb. 16, 2016; she survives.
Tom graduated from Thorntown High School in 1960. He was a lifelong resident of the Thorntown Community. He worked in Indianapolis as a press printer for J.C. Collins and Shepard Poorman Communications, retiring in 2002.
Tom was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and Eagles Club, both of Lebanon. He loved the outdoors, and gardening and turtle hunting were favorite pastimes of his. He enjoyed riding horses, and for many years he barrel raced in the rodeos. He was a proud father and grandfather, and loved his family dearly.
Survivors included wife, Sarah L. "Sally" Byrd of Thorntown; son, Tyson E. Warmoth and wife, Pam, of Thorntown; three stepchildren, Teresa Price and husband, Andy, of Thorntown, W. Todd Byrd of Lebanon and Tonya Fuston and husband, Billy, of Lebanon; two grandchildren, Kai Warmoth of Indianapolis and Lexi Warmoth of Thorntown; five stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandson; Brother, Mick Warmoth and wife, Susan, of Thorntown; sisters, Donna Newman and husband, Everett, of Thorntown and Iris Isenhower of Lebanon; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents and his wives, Tom was preceded in death by a daughter, Tori Jone Warmoth.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Myers & Hunt Mortuary, 116 W. Plum St., Thorntown. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 21, at the mortuary in Thorntown. Interment will follow services at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
Memorials may be made in his honor to a charity of the donor's choice.
