Mrs. Cecilia Joane "C.J." Wills, 70, a lifelong resident of Boone County, died Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2010, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Mrs. Wills was born Jan. 28, 1939, in Jamestown, the daughter of the late Cecil Windfield and Helen Beatrice (Hubble) Williams. She was reared and educated in Boone County and was a 1957 graduate of Granville Wells High School.

She married John Alton Wills on Aug. 19, 1961, in Lebanon. Mr. Wills died Feb. 5, 1982.

Mrs. Wills worked as a clerical employee for several years, and was a deputy in the Boone County License Branch for some of those years. She returned to Ivy Tech to get her nurses training to become a licensed practical nurse, and graduated in 1988. She worked as a nurse in Lebanon at the Koala Center, Parkwood Health Care Center, and finally at Homewood Health Campus. She retired in 2003 due to her health.

She was a member of the Mts. Run Baptist Church and the Boone County Republican Women's Club.

Mrs. Wills was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and daughter. She enjoyed her family, crocheting, shopping at garage sales and Indiana Pacers basketball.

Survivors include two children, Mark A. (Susan) Wills of Indianapolis and Johnetta K. (Al) Roberts of Lebanon; one sister, Martha L. (Ernest) Mikesell of Avon; and five grandchildren, Marissa A. Wills of Chicago, Evan T. Newman of Indianapolis, and Jonathon M. Roberts, Lydia M. Roberts and Joseph M. Roberts, all of Lebanon.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, at Myers Chapel of Memories, with the Rev. Ryan Glauber officiating. Interment will follow services at the Center Cemetery east of Lebanon.
