Charles "Richard" and Patricia "Pat" (DeLong) Isenhower, ages 77 and 72, of Lebanon, passed away on Mar. 3, 2015, in Charlotte County, Fla.. Richard was born Nov. 8, 1937, in Lebanon, a son of the now late Samuel and Helen (Hackett) Isenhower. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2013.. Richard was funny, helpful, and always sought to make people smile. He had a knack for showing up when needed, without being asked, but when needed most. Whether he was visiting friends or family members or doing good deeds that often went unseen, Richard always seemed to be thinking of others. He graduated from Lebanon High School, Purdue University Agriculture - short course - and attended electrical school. He served in the U.S. Air Force for six years. Richard was a lifelong farmer and had retired from the Boone County REMC after 26 years.. Pat was compassionate and caring. She was reliable, friendly, and she spent her life in service to others. Pat graduated from Lebanon High School, and received degrees from Indiana University, Butler University and St. Mary of the Woods College. She worked 43 years at Witham Memorial Hospital, serving in many capacities including RN, educator and administrator.. Together Richard and Pat spent much time and effort in support of Boone County 4-H, Lions Club, 4th of July celebration festivities, and health care for Boone County residents. They were lifelong members of Traders Point Christian Church, and loved helping with vacation Bible school at New Hope Christian Church, where their granddaughters attended.. Richard and Pat found the mission work that was right in front of them, quietly helping others in countless ways. They took on challenges without being asked. Their never- ending quest for adventure also took Richard and Pat across the country, where they visited and cared for friends and family. They often traveled with their granddaughters and instilled in them their sense of adventure, compassion and fun. Above all, they shined the light of Jesus for everyone to see.. Survivors include their two children, Richard "Rick" (Emily) Isenhower of Lebanon and Angela (Mark) Battisti of Zionsville; five granddaughters, Haylea, Lyndsey and Ellie Isenhower and Audrey and Abigail Battisti; one sister, Suzan (Jim) Burnell; two brothers, Stephan (Linda) Isenhower and Ray (Kae) Isenhower; sister-in-law, Jean Isenhower; and many nieces and nephews..
