Thorntown, Indiana - Kenneth Dale "Kenny" Oats, 69, passed away at his home in Thorntown, Indiana on February 17, 2026. He was born on December 13, 1956, in Indianapolis; a son of the late C. Samuel and Barbara Jean (Evans) Oats.

Kenny graduated from Lebanon High School in 1975 and attended Wyoming Tech.

On July 26, 1996, he married Cindy L. (Stump) Muncie Oats at their home in Thorntown; she survives.

Kenny worked at his family business, C.S. Oats Accountancy, as their IT director, and eventually retired.

He enjoyed watching NASCAR, Dallas Cowboys, and the Alanta Braves. Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved his family.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy Oats of Thorntown; daughter, Anne (Stephen) Parker of Lebanon; grandchildren, Jakob Cox and Alexandra Cox; step grandchildren, Kailyn Hoagland, Hannah Parker, and Alyssa Parker; two great granddaughters; and two step great granddaughters.

In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Oats; stepson, John Muncie; and his brother, Charles "Cliff" Oats.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his arrangements.
