Mr. Leon E. "Grease Monkey" Breedlove, 80, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at his home, while surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lebanon on Jan. 22, 1935, a son of the now late Ernest Lewis and Elizabeth Mae "Libby" Breedlove.. Leon enlisted in the United States Army following school, and served his country honorably.. On June 17, 1955, he was married to Shirley "Mae Mae" Breedlove at the Pleasant View Church in Lebanon. After 57 years of marriage, Mrs. Breedlove passed away on March 27, 2013.. Leon worked as a mechanic for UPS in Indianapolis for 25 years. He and his wife, also owned and operated S & L Crafts in Lebanon for 30 years. S & L Crafts is currently owned and operated by their granddaughter, Samantha, and her family.. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, Leon loved his family and the times they spent together.. He was a member of Pleasant View Church of Lebanon.. Survivors include daughter, Mary Jane (Doug) Deffenbaugh of Lebanon; five grandchildren, Meghan Jane (fiancé, Justin Twitty) Deffenbaugh, Samantha (Brandon) Jamison, Neesa Nicole Deffenbaugh, Braxton Douglas Deffenbaugh and Cody Douglas Deffenbaugh, all of Lebanon; one great-grandchild, Dyllan Lee Douglas Ernest Twitty; and seven siblings, Robert E. Breedlove, Esther (Carter) Copeland and Diane (John) Hendricks, all of Lebanon, Suzanne Scudder of Yukon, Okla., Kathy (Steve) Neese of Thorntown, Tish (Steve) Luper of Lebanon and Melinda (Dick) Bures of Indianapolis.. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Ray I. Breedlove.. Visitation is 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday, July 18, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 N. Lebanon St., Lebanon. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, July 19, at the mortuary, with the Rev. Glen Jewell officiating. Interment with military rites will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Boone County..
