Otis Denman "O.D." Scott Jr., 83, of Westfield, formerly of Jamestown, died June 9, 2011, at Maple Park Village in Westfield.. He was born Oct. 24, 1927, in Jamestown, the son of the now deceased Otis Denman and Lorena (Fleetwood) Scott. He was a 1945 graduate of Jamestown High School.. O.D. was baptized at Jamestown Christian Church on Feb. 10, 1946. He was also married there to Lola Irene Huckstep on Easter, April 6, 1947. Mrs. Scott survives.. After graduation, he began working for Zenite in Indianapolis. He also ran the family grain and dairy farm in the rural Jamestown area for several years. In 1973, the Scott family opened Scott's Cycle Sales in Lebanon and operated that until 1984. In addition, he was a real estate agent, car salesman, and also did commercial cleaning and lawn mowing.. O.D. was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who enjoyed his family and grandchildren. He was a proud member of the New Brunswick Church of Christ and loved attending church there with his many friends.. In March 2010, O.D. and Lola moved to Sanders Glen in Westfield. They made numerous new friends and enjoyed attending the many activities offered.. O.D. had varied interests that included collecting and detailing cars, watching basketball games, fishing, and had a great love for the numerous pets he had throughout the years.. Survivors include his wife, who resides in Westfield; one daughter, Rhonda L. (Mark) McPeake of Whitestown; three grandchildren, Jordan R. McPeake of Lebanon, and Matthew S. McPeake and Kristin N. McPeake, both of Whitestown; several nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Marie Scott of Indianapolis.. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Scott and Keith Scott, and a sister-in-law, Helen.. His family wishes to thank the following for their exceptional and loving care: Sanders Glen, Westfield; Maple Park Village, Westfield; Clarian/IU North Hospital and their dedicated nurses and doctors; and St. Vincent Hospice Services.. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 30, at New Brunswick Church of Christ, 6480 S. Indiana 39, Lebanon. Services will immediately follow.
